Are you a Southampton based adult facing challenges around your mental health? Do you love music?
Join our free weekly Music for the Mind singing and songwriting sessions for fun, musical development, and to make new friends.
Whether you’re an experienced singer or songwriter, or just getting started, you are very, very welcome. We are a friendly bunch, meeting every week in the Pavillion in Hoglands Park (songwriting) and Flourish, on the ground floor of Marlands (singing).
Sessions include games, exercises and activities and there’s no pressure to stand up and perform on your own unless you want to. Our fantastic Music Leaders include professional musicians and music practitioners who are there to support you, share their experience and have fun with you. They all understand that mental health challenges are tough to deal with and they will accept, without question, where you are in your journey.
What, when, where, how much?
The Songwriting groups runs on Mondays, from 1.30pm to 3.00 pm at the Pavillion, Hoglands Park. It’s free, £0.
The Vocal group runs on Thursdays, from 18.00 to 19.30pm, in MAST Studios. It’s free, £0.
Thanks to funding from Southampton City Council these FREE sessions run every week, from 1st August 2022 to 31st July 2023, including around Christmas and bank holidays. They only don’t run if the Music Leader is sick and we will tell all booked attendees about this before the session.
